Obsolescence rules
Overview
Sending a delivery notification several days after the package has been delivered can negatively impact the customer experience. To prevent this, we apply obsolescence rules that avoid sending outdated notifications. These rules apply if we do not receive a new event within a certain period of time. This period of time differs depending on the type of notification.
Details
- 24h for events related to the creation of a label
- 24 hours for events related to the shipment of a package (which are the first events other than those related to the creation of a label)
- 48 hours for events related to delivery, pickup points, and untracked packages
- 6 hours for all other events (zigzag_event_type in transit, incident, out_for_delivery, failed_attempt, return, drop_off)
- Smart States - We consider the notification obsolete 12 hours after the smart state trigger date.
