Why is a package “awaiting 1st event”?

It is normal if:

Packages are marked as “awaiting 1st event” shortly after they are imported into ZigZag.

From the moment we receive the tracking number until the carrier updates the shipment status, it is normal for the package to be in this state.

It is worth further investigation if:

If packages remain “stuck” in this status after you have shipped them, it is possible that:

  • The wrong carrier and/or tracking number was provided
  • You have not added the carrier handling the package to your account

As a result, we are unable to track the package, and it remains in the “awaiting 1st event” status.
